I spent some time updated both editions of Shifted & Transformed so that they match. Before Shifted had the dark colored chapter headings and Transformed had a lighter version of the same chapter headings. Now they are consistent throughout the duology on both the paperback and hardcover editions.

I’m as gut punched as everyone else to learn last night that Dreamers & Readers Festival has been canceled. I was going to be an attending author at the event. I wanted to make this post in case any of my readers weren’t aware of the canceled event. While I received an email like other vendors and authors of the event canceling, I’ve been informed that attendees only found out through socials last night. I’ve been taking a step back from social media and have been posting minimally so if not for that email, I would have never known the event was canceled. I really hope attendees get the same notification us authors and vendors got.

I’m hopeful I’ll get my table fee back but like others, vendors and readers, I’m stuck waiting for my refund. I did buy additional tickets to a 2nd night ball and put in my refund for that through Eventbrite. If you’re a reader who was going to be attending, I would try that avenue. It seems in Eventbrite’s TOS that if the event is canceled, you have 45 days to make a claim. Full transparency, I lost money on airfare I can’t get back and I’m stuck trying to figure out how to get my books back that are already in Texas. Luckily, I was able to cancel my hotel fees. I know many others are in the same boat and I’m so sorry you were put in the same situation whether you’re an author, vendor, or attendee. I was so excited to attend this event and get to see my readers and make new friends.

Events moving forward— this is not the 1st event I’ve signed up with within the last year that has either canceled or had issues. I’m still struggling to get back my table fee from Once Upon a Con 2026. Like many other authors and vendors, we booked tables before the first event happened for the upcoming year because we believed what was being told to us. Moving forward, I will finish out my scheduled events for the year and the two I have yet to announce for 2027. After that, if I do sign up for events, it will be local and with organizations I trust.
